As part of a new Faculty Diversity and Renewal grant meant to assist in recruiting and supporting a broadly diverse faculty who will contribute to the college’s academic excellence, diversity of viewpoints and experiences, and relevance in a global society, the Department of History at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine seeks applications for a combined postdoc and tenure track faculty appointment in 19th- and early 20th-century U.S. history. The post-doctoral fellow will have a two course teaching load the first year followed by an automatic conversion to a tenure track, assistant professorship in year two. The latter carries an annual five course load.
