The Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (RCC) is pleased to announce the creation of one or more Researcher in Residence positions starting at the earliest in January 2017. These positions are designed for postdocs or interdisciplinary scholars who have a project that falls within the RCC’s research field of Environment and Society.
The Institute for Asian and African Studies focuses on interdisciplinary and transregional teaching and research in the fields of history, society, culture, language and literature. The successful applicant will have proven experience in university level teaching and research on modern Chinese societies and cultures and the nature of their interconnections with regional neighbours, especially Japan.
Under the authority of the Director of the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU EHS) and the supervision of the Head of the Environmental Migration, Social Vulnerability and Adaptation Section (EMSVA), the Associate Academic Officer (Climate Insurance) and in collaboration with project partners, the appointee shall be entrusted with the following tasks within the framework of the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII):
