The Vice Chancellor for Research, Economic Development, and Engagement (REDE) is responsible for providing vision, strategic direction, and oversight for activities related to the promotion of research and research administration; engagement, innovation, and economic development; and centers and institutes. The Vice Chancellor represents the campus in the aforementioned matters to the Chancellor, the University of North Carolina, and external stakeholders such as government agencies, private foundations, national organizations, industry, and regional communities.
