Sterling Publishing Co., Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barnes & Noble, is seeking an Assistant Editor to work within its Editorial department. We are seeking a creative, innovative, and passionate individual who is looking to make an impact within the department as well as the organization. We require excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Assistant Editor works closely with the entire Hearst editorial department, Editorial Director, Art Director and Photo Editor. The Assistant Editor hires and works with individuals designers, outside freelancers (writers, copyeditors, proofreaders), and editors of various Hearst magazines on a per project basis.
