This 7-week course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to use GPS (Global Positioning Systems) devices for travel, data collection and mapping. As this technology becomes more and more commonplace it is important that students be exposed to the underlying theories and limitations as well as the applications. Collecting data and utilizing appropriate mapping software to produce useable field maps will be incorporated into the content of the course.
