The Department of the History of Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for an Assistant Professor position (tenure-track) beginning August 2017. We are especially interested in applications in the following areas: (1) history of science or technology before 1800; (2) history of the human sciences; or (3) history of information technologies. We are also interested in applicants whose area of study lies outside the United States. We are open to a variety of disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and methodological approaches. We are particularly interested in candidates who can promote interdisciplinary synergies between the History of Science, Medicine, & Technology (HSMT) program and other study programs in the Department of History; the Holtz Center for Science & Technology Studies; and/or other programs in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences.
