The Department of Music at Stanford University seeks to make an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (Teaching) for an initial term of five years, with the possibility of renewal for a continuing term. Responsibilities as the Music Director and Conductor of the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Philharmonia (Chamber Orchestra) include: administration of the Orchestral Studies Program; teach conducting; develop innovative programming; teach in other areas of expertise, leveraging and taking advantage of the scholarly and entrepreneurial environment Stanford has to offer; and participate in recruiting initiatives and departmental governance.
