Tenure Track Faculty, Anthropology (Linguistic) | California State University, Sacramento
The Department of Anthropology is seeking for a professional specializing in Linguistic Anthropology. Thematic, regional, and language specializations are open, but we seek candidates whose research addresses contemporary issues and modes of analysis in linguistic anthropology, including but not limited to perspectives on language and culture, theory in social- and ethno-linguistics, language ideology, the linguistic aspects of performance, representation, identity, discourse analysis, and perspectives on the power-laden character of language. In addition, a successful candidate might have as research interests the relations among language and such social institutions and human qualities as affect, gender, sexuality, race, religion, work institutions and workplace environments, and new technologies.
