We seek a candidate with expertise in the study of Global Christianities, with a focus on Catholicism, Pentecostalism, the relationship between Christianities and indigenous religious traditions, and/or other contemporary religious movements beyond North America and Western Europe. We especially welcome candidates who engage in a cross-cultural or comparative frame, particularly the use of ethnographic, sociological, or historical research, and specialize in one or more of the following geographic areas: Africa, Asia, Latin America, or the Caribbean. Candidates should have graduate-level training in theories and methods pertaining to the study of religion. Training in post-colonial studies, race and ethnic studies, interfaith, and/or gender studies is desirable. Expertise in relevant languages is expected.
