The Department of Sound at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) invites applications for a full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty position, beginning August 2017. Artists with an interdisciplinary approach to sound in combination with other visual art or design areas are particularly desirable. Specific areas of practice and research might include: acoustic ecology and soundscape; phonography; site-specific installation; electronics and electronic music, including analog synthesis, instrument design and construction; improvisation or other live-performance practices; work with innovative approaches to sound for video, film, or games.
