We seek a dynamic and enterprising visual arts teacher with the experience and versatility to teach across a 5-12 program and to chair a K-12 department. A background in drawing, painting, photography, and art history is desirable; a history of committed and successful teaching in a rigorous visual arts program is a must. Candidates should hold a graduate degree in the visual arts, the history of art, or arts education and should bring at least 5 years of experience. Strong applicants should also possess the ambition, administrative skill, and educational vision to lead a small but highly experienced department in the task of defining a K-12 visual arts curriculum, with particular attention to building our students’ studio skills, conceptual knowledge, visual arts vocabulary, and confidence across a 10 year core curriculum (K through 9, followed by a series of electives in the Upper School).
