Choral Teacher | Collegiate School
New York, NY
The Music Department seeks a versatile and dynamic choral teacher to teach classes and direct singing groups, K-12. In particular, the choral teacher will teach and direct performances for the Upper School Chorus, the Upper School advanced acapella group (“The UnDutchables”), and the 7th and 8th grade chorus. In addition, she or he will teach a lower school general music class and offer one or two electives in the upper school in music history or theory. Candidates should bring a degree in music education with an emphasis on choral music or a degree in music performance with 5 or more years of experience in the choral classroom. Preference will be given candidates who have experience working with male choirs and with changing male voices, keyboard skills, and an advanced degree in choral conducting. Critically important are the interest and background in developing a fresh and diverse repertoire, including world choral music, that will engage boys of all ages.
