Department of Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in linguistic anthropology or sociocultural anthropology, preferably at the Assistant Professor rank, to commence August 2017. We are seeking a teacher-scholar of Melanesia/Oceania, Southeast Asia or non-Himalayan South Asia, with research specializations in one or more of the following: kinship, ritual, myth, materiality, visual anthropology, technology, infrastructure, or extractive industries. Theoretical expertise and teaching competence should include both contemporary approaches and broader historical contexts of sociocultural/linguistic anthropology and of Western social thought.
