The Department of History at Williams College seeks to make a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor in Russian history, to start July 1, 2017.  The department welcomes all areas and periods of specialization and expects the successful candidate to be a committed and imaginative scholar with Ph.D. in hand or expected by September 2017.   The Department also expects the successful candidate to be able to offer courses from the medieval through the post-Soviet period, courses which engage with the fact that Russian history encompasses a vast geographic area spread across Eurasia.
