The Department of English at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-track position at the beginning or advanced assistant professor level to begin Fall 2017. Specialization: Visual rhetoric and visual literature. We seek candidates with expertise in image/text theory, the graphic novel, and sequential arts. We especially seek those with emphases in gender and women’s studies, queer theory, critical race theory, or ethnic studies. Experience in creating sequential or graphic texts and animation is also a plus. Finally, we prefer candidates with experience and interest in participating in the process of editing our international, online journal ImageText. The normal teaching assignment is two courses per semester or the equivalent.
