The Department of English at the College of Charleston welcomes applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Instructor position, with a start date of Aug. 16, 2017. MA in Composition Studies or in English with training in Composition Studies required, PhD in Composition Studies desirable. The teaching assignment is typically 12 hours per semester (often three 4-hour courses), primarily in first-year writing (Introduction to Academic Writing and Interdisciplinary Composition). Instructors undergo a review for promotion to Senior Instructor in their sixth year and are reviewed for renewal every seven years after promotion. Instructors are full voting members of the department.
