We seek an Africanist social scientist who will specialize in development in sub-Saharan Africa. Required qualifications: PhD (by date of appointment) in African Studies, History, Cultural Anthropology, Geography, Political Science, Gender Studies, Sociology, or a closely related field; commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and research. Strong candidates will use approaches that include study of NGOs, feminist or critical gender theories, field-based methods, and competency in an indigenous, non-colonial African language.
