This project addresses a specific body of current and historical documentation pertaining to Fort Baker in the Marin Headlands.The Park Archives and Records Center, located at the Presidio of San Francisco, houses 5.5 million archival materials. A subset of these archives deals with the transfer and management of the former military site, Fort Baker, and its evolution from military base to national park and conference center. This project will involve formal processing (arrangement, description and rehousing) of up to 100 linear feet of archives and records pertaining to various aspects of the Fort Baker projects from ca. 1983-2010. Most identified collections are currently located in the Park Archives and Records Center. Some work will involve supporting Records staff in confirming collections of paper and electronic records still in active status for future acquisition/accretion planning as they fit into existing archival collections.
