The fellowship is open to scholars in all disciplines who are engaged in US-Canada comparative research and teaching, with preference given to individuals working within the social sciences and humanities.
Applicants must have ability to teach U.S. Latino Studies as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in History. We seek scholars working in any sub-field and any period and are especially interested in immigration, transborder issues, and/or the Great Plains. Scholars who can contribute to the Department of History’s digital history and digital humanities foci and/or History of the American West program are particularly encouraged to submit an application.
Scholars will receive a salary equivalent to that of Visiting Assistant Professors at their host institution. Scholars will be assigned up to 60% of the teaching load for a full-time faculty member per academic year at the host institution and contribute to other campus activities. Mentoring on teaching, scholarship, and professional life at liberal arts colleges will be provided.
We seek an individual with expertise in the Asia-Pacific region who has conducted grounded intercultural and/or ethnographic field research in one or more of the sub regions of Asia (South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia). An earned Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., anthropology, cultural or religious studies, social or cross-cultural psychology, sociology, etc.), as well as post-secondary teaching experience and regional language proficiency, is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate, through application materials and interview, the ability to teach and mentor professional military students; bring diverse and multidisciplinary perspectives into the classroom; establish a sustainable, productive research program; and function professionally in a highly collaborative, diverse organization.
