The Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Postcolonial African Literature and Cultural Production with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and/or North Africa, to begin September 1, 2017. We seek applications from scholars in humanities disciplines including Literature, Film and Media Studies, Comparative Literature, Art History, and History who reach across disciplinary boundaries in research and teaching. Areas of research interest could include: gender and sexuality; race, religion and ethnicity; postcoloniality; oral history; globalization and migration; popular culture; intellectual history; and aesthetics.
