Emory University seeks a full-time Senior Associate Director for Publishing, with a focus on publication of scholarship in the humanities. This is a grant-funded position, made possible through the generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for an initiative supporting the long-form scholarly publication of humanities faculty during a time of rapid change. In particular, the larger grant aims to aid faculty considering new forms of open-access, digital publication under development at university presses and other academic publishers. The Senior Associate Director will report to the Director of the Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry, a center housed in the Emory College of Arts of Arts and Sciences, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a leadership role in shaping this new initiative in support of humanities scholarship.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking an individual of international standing to join the faculty of its Program in Art, Culture and Technology (ACT). We seek a colleague who is a practicing artist, designer, curator, or creative producer, who has demonstrated capacity for team building and visionary leadership, who is internationally recognized with strong experience teaching at the college, university, or art school level, who has clear administrative experience (ideally within the context of an institute of higher education), and has the capacity to build bridges between institutions and communities.
The NYU Center for the Humanities will award one in-residence fellowship in 2017. Appointment is not tenure eligible and will be for one year beginning September 2017 and ending May 2018. The Fellow will design and teach a variation of the Center’s key undergraduate seminar, On Being Human, under the mentorship of a senior faculty member assigned by the Center. Teaching at another institution and outside employment during the fellowship is prohibited.
While in residence, the Fellow will work with senior scholars and policy experts on critical national and international issues related to humanistic and social scientific research, the strength of artistic and cultural institutions, and the role of American institutions in a well-functioning democracy.
